Frozen PB & Pumpkin Treats!

These are super easy to make, only three ingredients, and got a 4/4 basset approval rating! In the Texas heat, we’re always looking for ways to keep our beloved fur babies cool, and these healthy treats are a perfect snack to beat the heat.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree [100% - not the pie filling]

  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter [no xylitol!]

Instructions

  • Mix pumpkin, yogurt and peanut butter together until smooth and creamy.

  • Place silicone molds or ice cube trays on a cookie sheet [this keeps everything flat in the freezer].

  • Spoon mixture into the molds and gently tap on the counter to ensure all the air escapes.

  • Place on a flat surface in your freezer and leave them for 3-4 hours.

  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer!

Of course, you only want to put the healthiest ingredients in your dog’s tummy. These treats are very nutritional!

Peanut butter contains magnesium [strengthens muscle], manganese [aids metabolism], phosphorus [strengthens bones and teeth], protein and healthy fats, vitamin b [helps metabolism, skin and coat] and e [reduces inflammation, supports immune health] and fiber [aids digestion, relieves constipation]. Plus, dogs just really love it!

Pumpkin has fiber [aids constipation, and overall digestion], vitamin a [good for their vision, their skin and coat and their immune system and vitamin c [aids immune system and reduces inflammation]. The oils in pumpkin seeds and pumpkin flesh may aid with urinary health.

Greek Yogurt is rich in probiotics [helps digestion], proteins [builds muscle], calcium [supports strong bones and teeth], potassium [aids muscle movement] and whey [fights plaque and tartar].
