Our bassets are family!

We understand having concerns about where your bassets come from. For that reason, we want to share how we care for our beloved family members.

Our Bassets are free-range!

Our farm is 40 acres - and the bassets have plenty of space to run, play and explore to their heart's content.

But, bassets are pretty low energy. So when it’s time to stop, there’s only one place they want to be.

Our bassets are so spoiled, they get 90% of the bed. They’re generous enough to give us the other 10%.

We have a bi-weekly tradition: basset spa day. Spa days are very busy, but they love them, and they make our dogs so happy!

Spa Day Includes:

Bathing: our bassets are bathed with an oatmeal shampoo that is gentle on their skin.

Nail Treatment: nails are trimmed as needed, usually once a month or so.

Ear Cleaning: basset ears can collect a lot of gunk when they’re out roaming, so we use a medicated flush to keep them clean and healthy. Sometimes, they get so gunky we have to wipe them out with paper towels throughout the week!

Diet

Our dogs are fed twice a day with a good, balanced dog food. They eat boiled eggs too, which make their coats shiny and healthy! You can really see the difference! I’ve even started making their own treats, so we know they’re getting nutritious snacks!

Breeding

We care about nothing more than our dogs’ health!

Our dams have one litter a year, for only so long as it is healthy for them to do so! We change their diet to ensure they remain healthy, happy and shiny throughout the birthing and puppy-rearing process.

We ensure that the puppies’ play area is kept clean and sanitary, and when it comes time to eat solid foods, we make sure they’re getting all the nutrition they need to be happy and healthy in your home, when the time comes.

That said: if you have any questions at all about how our bassets are cared for, ask! We strive for full transparency to make you feel as comfortable as possible while picking out your next family member!
